Title: Senior Residential Social Worker / Social Pedagogue – No GSCC Registration Required

Salary: £19,500 - £21,500 per year/before tax

Location: Rural location - either in Bury, ca. 55miles South of London or Selsey on the beautiful South Coast of England

Description:
The employer provides long-term residential placement for Looked After and Accommodated young people aged 12-17 years from a difficult background.
This organisation has been rated "outstanding" and very good on various Ofsted inspections, this means they provide excellent quality of care in a homely and comfortable, family like atmosphere for the children. There are lots of outdoor activities with staff and children, and staff are building very close relationships with the children they work with.
The role of the Pedagogue is to work confidently and pedagogically with young people and if relevant with their families. The Pedagogue will need to be able to promote boundaries and be a positive role model for the children, as well as for other potentially more junior staff members.
Candidates are expected to have experience working with directly with children in residential settings or other relevant experience. The successful applicant will undertake shift leader responsibilities and be willing to share their knowledge of Pedagogy/Social Pedagogy with future colleagues.

Requirements:

• Qualifications in: Social Pedagogy, Pedagogy or Social Workers with knowledge of Pedagogy
• Good skills in communicating & listening
• Good English
• Flexibility
• Driving License
• EU citizens only as work permit not provided
